Gunter Farms and Pumpkin Patch

How does a "corn maze" take shape? Many corn mazes today are made with a GPS system and computer generated picture, however it's a little more old fashioned here at the farm. Gunter Farms maze every year is the brain child of Farmer Lloyd. He thinks (usually while milking), draws and sometimes frets over his maze every winter. By spring he usually has a plan in his head and he takes it to the drawing board. Then using his corn planter he lays out the maze as he plants the corn, winding his tractor through the field drawing out his picture. This, to many, is a very unbelievable feat. After the corn begins to grow he then cuts out the maze with a lawn mower. Creating the maze this way does take a lot of man power, time and effort, but for Lloyd to see his maze come to life is the best reward a farmer can ever get. Here are a few pictures to let you in on the maze process.
